This item, consisting of a doll-shaped bottle, well dressed and ruddy, belong to the tradition of Grottaglie of the 19th century. The "mustached doll" recalls a curious legend: all starts with the "ius primae noctis" (right of the first night) according to which, the lord of the land had the right to spend the first night of love with all the ladies who got married there. According to the tradition, a peasant, to avoid sending his wife, dressed up as a woman to go to the castle and kill the lord. However, he forgot to cut his mustache, so he was discovered and executed. To remember the story, the artisan of the time made this "mustached doll"
