Acquasantiere
Characteristic artefact of religious inspiration, it belongs to the ceramic tradition of Grottaglie of the 19th century. The tiny basin, used to contain the holy water, is the essential element of the “Acquasantiera”. Moulded in relief with and with a support for it to be hanged, it can assume many shapes, for the simplest to the most embellished. It reminds the architecture of a church and on top of the basin are, often, colums and there are images of Angels or Saints.
